Our country, although small in size, has an incredible natural wealth. At the moment, Costa Rica is considered one of the 25 most biodiverse countries of the planet. Experts say that in our territory inhabits approximately 4% of the total world's biodiversity, which is a benefit for the country and an environment safeguard responsibility.
The Ecological Blue Flag Program is an annually mark that rewards the effort of conservation and development, in accordance with the protection of natural resources. It´s official page banderaazulecologica.org/ describes the initiative as "the voluntary implementation of actions that mitigate climate change, promote better sanitary conditions and the improvement of public health of Costa Rica population."
On May 30, as part of its commitment to Costa Rica environmental preservation, our company has officially launched the Ecological Blue Project, which aims to certify our main building in Paso Ancho. This initiative encourage our employees to implement savings and awareness environmental care practices, in order to stimulate benefits for present and future generations.
During the inauguration, we had the motivational speech of our CEO, Mr. Mauricio Bruce, and the expositions of Mariano Tinoco, as the committee adviser, and the representative of CO2CR Rebeca Madrigal Ramirez. In addition, this event was attended by the representative of AYA, Jesus Vega Molina, and ILG Logistics staff.
The project is led by the following green committee members: Josué Garita, Nancy Muñoz, Erick De Sarraga, Sergio Tencio, Mauricio Hurtado, Shirley Gómez, Karen Rodríguez and Sara Guido. Also, the engineer Marco Tinoco will be part of the certification process, as an external consultant.
For ILG Logistics, it is an honor to start the Ecological Blue Flag Program with the support of its collaborators, which are fundamental in the course of certification and in the cultural change process.
